About Thompson Tech

I started as a hands-on Army communications technician deploying tactical networks in challenging conditions. That foundation taught me systematic problem-solving, team leadership, and the importance of reliable execution. But I also learned that technology decisions need strategic thinking - not just technical capability.

Over the next decade, I moved from tactical execution to strategic leadership. I led IT service delivery for 36,000+ employees at Texas Department of Criminal Justice, managed IT operations for 700+ bank branches, built cloud infrastructure for pharmaceutical research, and eventually led a $500M+ M&A divestiture while building enterprise PMOs from scratch.

I kept seeing the same pattern: organizations outgrowing ad hoc IT were stuck between DIY and hiring a full-time executive. They needed strategic leadership that could also roll up their sleeves when execution gets messy.
